End of the trip

And then I went home. I've been back in the USA for almost a month now. Although originally intended to document my travels, I'll continue to update this blog with any decent pictures I have, from concert photos to wildlife shots, pretty much anything I'd like to share, and hopefully, if I'm lucky, another trip abroad.

Thanks for taking interest!

Stabbing his leg

Blenkejeran is a small town in the interior of Northern Sumatra. Our plan was to breeze through on our way to Banda Aceh, but Adam learned that there would be a Debus that night in honor of a wedding that happened earlier that morning. During the Debus men danced in the middle of a drum circle and stabbed themselves with knives, swords, axes, and, in one case, a flaming stick. One of my favorite nights of the trip.
